Marty Davies describes herself as a “proud attention seeker”. Part of the LGBTQIA+ community, Marty found that there was a gross oversight in terms of inclusion in the creative industries, and thus she founded Smarty Pants Consultancy. A creative strategist, campaigner and writer, Marty’s work at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ culture and creative industries is noteworthy.
Marty completed her BA in Advertising and Marketing Communications from Bournemouth University and has since forged an incredible career for herself. She has worked at leading brands such as Lush, Saatchi & Saatchi, RAPP, and Just Eat to name a few. In 2018, she became the Founder of Smarty Pants Consultancy, an organisation that focuses on strategy, customer activation and retention.
Marty is also the Joint CEO of Outvertising, a volunteer organisation that aims to make the advertising and marketing field LGBTQIA+ inclusive. Outvertising was shortlisted by PinkNews for the Charity/Community Group of the Year award in 2023 to applaud their work in advocating for Trans+ rights. Marty is also a columnist for Campaign Magazine, where as their first transgender columnist, she discusses LGBTQIA+ issues surrounding representation and the need for inclusivity.
Named one of Campaign Magazine’s Future Leaders in 2022, Marty was also named Pitch Super Person in 2023. She was also recognised as one of Campaign’s Top 10 Trailblazers and Pink News’ 21 Activists. Co-Founder of Trans+ Adland, she has built a solid community of trans, non-binary, non-binary and gender non-conforming people who work in marketing and advertising fields.
