Conor Woodman


Irish TV presenter Conor Woodman is known for his hard hitting coverage of global financial and social issues as well as his work as an author, public speaker and print journalist. Born in Galway, Ireland Woodman moved to England as a child and has lived here ever since, a graduate of Manchester University Conor Woodman has worked as a TV presenter for some of the UK’s largest broadcasters and travelled the world producing documentary series for a variety of production companies.

As well as working a radio & television presenter Conor Woodman is also known as a public and after dinner speaker, his experience with some of the most poverty stricken people in the world has moved him to become actively involved in the movement to reshape global social and business practices and he speaks passionately about the widening gap between the rich and the poor at charitable and after dinner speaker events.

With a number of published non-fiction books to his name Conor Woodman has been long listed for the Orwell Prize and acclaimed by both critics and the public; Conor’s first book, The Adventure Capitalist, lead to one of his most successful television production: Around the World in 80 Trades, a four part series which he presented for Channel 4.

From 2012 until 2014 Conor Woodman was the TV presenter for the National Geographic Channel’s series Scam City, which looked at the darker side of the global tourist industry and, also in 2014, completed his first feature length documentary film True Appaloosa. Conor’s work as a radio & television presenter has taken him around the globe and he continues to regularly report for the BBC and submit pieces to BBC Radio 4’s programme From Our Own Correspondent.
