English Professional Rugby Player Who Is A Member Of The England 2019 Rugby World Cup Squad

A scrum-half who was a key member of the England 2019 World Cup Squad, Willi Heinz is also a player for the Crusaders. Having played for Gloucester, Canterbury and the England National Team, Heinz has amassed an abundance of teamwork, leadership and peak performance skills and is now using his platform as an after-dinner speaker to spread his wisdom.

Born in New Zealand, Willi played for the Crusaders in the Super Rugby before joining Canterbury to play in the ITM Cup. Becoming a professional rugby player had also been a dream of his since he played four years in his XV rugby team at school.

He made his debut in England Premiership rugby when he signed for Gloucester Rugby during the 2015-16 season. He has made a total of 80 appearances and has scored an impressive 65 points and continues to contribute towards the team’s efforts today as the club captain.

Willi’s international career was kickstarted in 2017 when it was recognised by Eddie Jones that his English grandmother allows him to qualify to represent England. He made his international debut against Wales at Twickenham Stadium in August 2019 before being named as part of the 2019 World Cup Squad.
