Iain Wilson is an editing director at Bloomberg, a 24 hour finance and news information provider, covering the commodities and renewable energy sector in Asia since 2011. He specialises in delivering BNEF (Bloomberg New Energy Finance) analysis and research to Terminal clients, with a particular focus on Japan. His current areas of responsibilities include oversight of reporting related to Japan's response to the evolving nuclear crisis in Fukushima and Japan's policy debate and evolution of the renewable energy sector.
Wilson has more than 19 years experience working for Bloomberg, however before working for them, Wilson worked at Toronto Real Estate Board from April 1991 to 1996, reporting on commercial and residential real estate. He then moved to Tokyo in April 1996 to take on the a new job role of Financial News Copy Editor at Bridge Information Systems. Then finally, in August 1999, he was offered a job at Bloomberg as Asia Technology Team Leader. After 12 years of working his way up the employment ladder, he was offered the job of Financial News Editor in May 2011.
Having been brought up in Canada, he attended high school at Brantford Collegiate in 1979. Then in 1988 he completed his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Journalism/Political Science at Carleton University. After leaving university, he took on work experience in New York as a municipal government reporter at Watertown Daily Times in July 1988. More recently, Wilson is living in Tokyo, Japan.
