Langley Sharp is a distinguished Lieutenant Colonel in the British Army and the Founder and Managing Director of Frontier Leadership. The former Head of The Centre for Army Leadership at the UK Ministry of Defence, Langley played an instrumental role in codifying leadership and establishing a process for developing great leaders within the Army. Believing that leadership can be nurtured, Langley now applies his extensive leadership knowledge to a variety of different fields, helping people develop their leadership abilities. Beginning his journey with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as an Officer Cadet, Langley would spend the next two decades working his way up the leadership hierarchy. He spent ten years as a Parachute Regiment Officer where he demonstrated exceptional ability and talent allowing him to later become Chief of Staff for the Parachute Regiment Battalion. In roles such as Operations Officer and Commanding Officer, Langley proved to be an outstanding leader showcasing his ability to make quick decisions under pressure. After 23 years at the UK Ministry of Defence, Langley became Chief Operating Officer at The Longhouse which was followed by the role of Associate at the Moller Institute.
Highly educated, Langley holds a Level 7 Diploma from The Institute of Leadership and Management, a Master of Defence Studies from the Canadian Forces College, and a Master from the University of Leicester. In 2021 he published his book The Habit of Excellence, drawing on his vast leadership experience during his time at the British Army. In his book, he shares valuable tips and techniques for leadership success in any field.
Recently, Langley appeared on the Centre for Army Leadership and The Melting Pot podcasts, where he spoke about his army background and how it has shaped his understanding of leadership.
