Joining the Army, Ant quickly established himself as a zealous soldier, serving in the 9 Parachute Squadron RE aged just 16. Having served various tours of duty, including in Macedonia and Northern Ireland, Ant made the decision to leave the Army and enlist as a member of the Royal Marines. Passing the commando course, Ant became a Royal Marines Commando in the D Company 40 Commando – completing his first tour as a Royal Marine in Afghanistan. Navigating some of the most hostile environments known to man, Ant finished his military service with four years spent as a soldier in the Special Boat Service. In honour of his service, Ant was bestowed the General Service Medal, the NATO Medal, the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Following his military service, Ant utilised his combat skills to provide security for VIPs and as a security expert for both West African governments and across South Africa. He also began to star on various television programmes, with his first appearance on SAS: Who Dares Wins, alongside the likes of Jason Fox, Ollie Ollerton, Jay Morton, and Colin Maclachlan, in 2015 propelling him into the limelight. Since then, he has appeared on countless shows, including as a Captain on Mutiny. In 2018, Ant was the subject of Extreme Everest with Ant Middleton, in which he pushed his mental and physical resilience to the limit as he summitted Mount Everest. He has also appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, SAS Australia: Who Dares Wins, Million Dollar Island, Escape, Ant Middleton and Liam Payne: Straight Talking and Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking.
