With a total reign of a year as the world number one in the Official Golf Ranking, Luke Donald is one of golf’s fiercest competitors. Playing, and succeeding on both the US-based PGA Tour and the European Tour, Luke is world renowned for his golfing abilities. Now, sharing his experiences and inspiring others, Luke is hugely popular as an after dinner and keynote speaker.

Reaching the peak of his career, Luke shot to fame, and world number one, in 2011. After reining victorious in his first world golf title, the 2011 WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship, Luke went on to gain the top spot on the European Tour’s flagship event, BMW PGA Championship. A further few successful months and a win at Race to Dubai, saw him become the first golfer to claim the top position in both the PGA Tour and European Tour money lists, a historical feat.

Prior to his top performances in the professional series’, Luke was equally as skilled in his amateur career. Obtaining a golf scholarship to Northwestern University in America, he achieved the school record and the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Golf Championships in 1999, beating Tiger Woods’ scoring in the process. In 2000, a year before turning professional, Luke Donald became the first amateur to win the Chicago Open.

Since his illustrious year at number one, Luke has been named as the PGA Player of the Year for 2011 and awarded a Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2012 for his services to golf. He has successfully defended his BMW PGA Championship in 2012 and won the Dunlop Pheonix Tournament as part of the Japan Tour on two consecutive occasions.
