Michelle McManus is a woman of many talents. The highly talented singer shot to fame on Pop Idol in 2003. Michelle's infectious passion for singing has truly stood the test of time. Her first album, The Meaning Of Love, debuted in the UK Album Charts at number three in 2004. Since then, she has continued to win over audiences nationwide.
Having achieved a staggering 6.5 million votes, Michell was the fan favourite on the 2003 season of Pop Idol. Appearing with David Hasselhof, Michelle played the Magic Mermaid in 2016, in Glasgow's Peter Pan. She also enjoyed success in her own live shows. Michelle McManus’ Reality - The Musical (2013 and 2014), Reloaded (2015 and 2018), Pop Goes The Idol (2016 and 2019) and Reality in 2017, all ensured that Michelle was a regular face at theatres and comedy festivals.
Michelle's initial onstage success came from The Vagina Monologues, a bold take on gender and sexuality. The sell-out show was met with critical acclaim, and led Michelle to appear in Discotivity and Little Voice, which toured the Far East in 2007. Michelle's knack for humour truly shone in Gone But Not Forgotten and Love Me Tinder, two highly popular comedy plays. Later theatre shows include her one-woman show, which Michelle has performed at the Edinburgh Festival for nearly ten years.
Titled The Hour, Michelle spent two years hosting the popular Scotting television show, interviewing such figures as David Cameron and Mark Ronson. She has also enjoyed presenting roles on Radio Clyde, a top-rated independent station in Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland. In previous years, Michelle has also presented Michelle McManus’ Winter Wonderland with the Soundsational Choir, a popular Christmas show.
