Pop Idol superstar Gareth Gates is one of the most well-known solo artists in the UK. Gareth suffers from a stutter and raised huge awareness over the impediment, with singing being a release from his stutter, Gareth has talked publicly about overcoming his troubles and worked with the McGuire programme to manage the problem and later became a coach and mentor himself. Gates diversified into West End musicals in 2009, playing the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Gates’ has also taken the role of Marius in Les Miserables alongside touring with the UK production of Hair.
