Escala are an all female British string band who originally rose to fame in 2008 after reaching the final of the infamous talent competition, Britain’s Got Talent. The band, which currently consists of Chantal Leverton, Helen Nash, Victoria Lyon and Honor Watson, met whilst all performing in the string section for the live tour of popular pop band McFly and have since gone on to headline numerous live tours of their own and also provide a popular band for hire service.
Some of the band’s most notable performances include those on Britain’s Got Talent where they performed instrumental renditions of famous songs by influential music bands including the Paul McCartney/Wings track Live and Let Live. As a band for hire Escala have performed across Europe and in some of England’s most impressive concert halls including The Royal Albert Hall. They are arguably the most well known string band working on the live music circuit.
