Scott Mills has been in the spotlight from a young age, starting his career as a DJ at the youthful age of 16. Hampshire’s Power FM allocated him the ‘graveyard’ slot and developed his skills as a presenter. Being only 16 years old granted him the title of being the youngest presenter on mainstream commercial radio and allowed him to work with BBC Radio 1 and 2 later in his career. Scott’s dedication to radio over the years has helped him gain a respected reputation, giving him great qualities for events.
Keen for experience, Scott began appearing on Hampshire’s Power FM in 1989 within the ‘graveyard’ hours to provide him with a chance to learn and develop key skills needed to be successful. Recognised for his talent, he was moved to the drive time slot which is where he began getting recognised by radios such as Power FM, GWR FM, Piccadilly Key 103 and Heart 106.2. By working with multiple different stations, his work advanced and set him up for his celebrated roles at both Radio 1 and 2.
As a valued individual, Scott has taken part in multiple charity events. In 2011 he took part in a trek to the Kaisut Desert in northern Kenya, which was run by BT for Comic Relief. Scott’s hard work and commitment throughout his career have been greatly recognised and in 2005, he won the Loaded Laftas Funniest DJ award. Scott continued to be rewarded as his career progressed, winning the Sony Radio Academy Awards Music Radio Personality of the Year Gold award in 2010 and the Stonewall awards Broadcast of the Year award in 2011.
Scott Mills has built an incredible career with over 30 years of experience working on the radio. Appearing on the radio has allowed Scott to build his confidence when speaking to an audience which is why he is now in demand for several different events. When looking for a speaker who has gained vast knowledge throughout his career and is now willing to share this with an audience, Scott Mills may be the ideal choice.
