Singer, songwriter, Jamelia needs no introduction. With three Top 40 UK albums, four MOBO Awards and numerous television appearances, Jamelia has become a household name in her own right. Whether the occasion requires a famous face, an all star artist or a popular presenter, Jamelia is the woman for the job.
Best known for her stunning vocals on hit songs like ‘Superstar’ and ‘Thank You’, Jamelia has dominated the R&B scene, also taking influence from pop and hip-hop which has made her a mainstream success. Throughout her career, Jamelia has received nine BRIT award nominations, a testament to her talent, and won two Q Awards. Having released three impressive studio albums, including: Drama, Thank You and Walk With Me, it’s no surprise that Jamelia has achieved a total of eight UK Top 10 Singles. This all star act is still a key figure in British pop culture and is the perfect singer to entertain guests from dusk to dawn.
Starting out in the industry in the 90s, Jamelia was only fifteen years old when she signed her first record deal with Capitol Records. Despite a disappointing start with her single ‘So High’ Jamelia was destined for mainstream success, and preserved. Releasing her first debut album in 2000, Drama, Jamelia achieved the success she deserved when the album reached Top 20 Chart positions across Europe. From her initial release, Jamelia went from strength to strength to become the well loved artist she is today.
Thanks to her high profile status, Jamelia has had the opportunity to diversify, in recent years, to television work. First taking to the small screen in 2009, she was a judge on ‘Moves Like Michael Jackson’. Proving she could pass her industry knowledge on to the next generation of performers, she again appeared as a judge in 2013 on The Voice of Ireland. In addition to her performance related TV work, Jamelia also sat on the Loose Women panel from 2013-2016, starred in a tell-all documentary ‘Jamelia: Shame About Single Mums’ on BBC 3 and appeared as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing 2015.
From singing to presenting, modelling to designing, Jamelia has had a vast and versatile career. Accustomed to adapting to the criteria of the occasion, she is the ideal icon to take your event to the next level.
