Darren Bicknell

British cricket speaker and player Darren Bicknell is remembered by many as the elder brother of former England Test Match player and fellow cricket speaker Martin Bicknell. Unlike his brother Darren’s career was limited largely to playing for the domestic team Surrey where he scored more than eighty half centuries.

Born in Guilford Darren Bicknell played for his local team for most of his career, joining when he was just twenty years old and staying until 1999; a left-handed batsman Darren was known for his slow left hand bowling style and was a popular player amongst local fans.

Whilst at Surrey Darren cultivated quite the career as a local cricket speaker, often appearing at after dinner speaker events at the club grounds.

Despite his long history with Surrey Darren moved to Nottinghamshire in 2000 where he continued to play until his retirement in 2006; now a dedicated sports speaker Darren Bicknell makes appearances at both Surrey and Nottingham after dinner speaker events as well as touring the UK and making guest appearances at charitably cricket events and as a sports speaker and celebrity guest for local events.
