Suzannah Lipscomb is an award-winning historian, author, and broadcaster, celebrated for her expertise in Tudor history and her ability to make history accessible to a broad audience. Suzannah’s career began with an exceptional academic foundation. She earned a double First in History from Lincoln and Balliol Colleges, Oxford, and went on to complete a Master of Studies (MSt) and a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in History, at Oxford, where she was a Jowett Senior Scholar. During her time at Oxford, she specialised in the Tudor period, and this focus became the hallmark of her career. Suzannah further honed her expertise as Research Curator at Hampton Court Palace, where she was responsible for historical research and curation, making her one of the foremost authorities on Henry VIII and his court.
Over the years, Suzannah has earned a series of prestigious awards and titles. She is Professor Emerita at the University of Roehampton and a Fellow of both the Royal Historical Society and the Society of Antiquaries. She has written and edited seven books, including the critically acclaimed 'The Voices of Nîmes: Women, Sex, and Marriage in Reformation Languedoc', which won the Social History Society Book Prize Commendation in 2021.
