Richard Hammond is the best loved motor enthusiast, and willing presenter of Top Gear and The Grand Tour. Popular with viewers for his eagerness to participate in stunts, challenges and competitions showcased on his shows, Hammond has a reputation as an exhilarating presenter. At events, Hammond injects the same personality seen on the small screen into hosting and talks, combining personal anecdotes, humour and extensive industry knowledge, Hammond will elevate your occasion with his far reaching audience appeal. Stepping into the spotlight in 2002, Hammond, who previously conducted car reviews on the radio, became one of the iconic trio to front BBC’s Top Gear, alongside James May and Jeremy Clarkson.
Over twenty two series and thirteen years, Hammond reviewed cars across the performance spectrum, completed powerlaps and competed in a variety of wild challenges that saw vehicles pushed to their limits. Whilst filming a segment where he drove the Vampire car, Hammond crashed the vehicle resulting in a two week coma and memory loss. However, the result could have been catastrophic had he not known how to professionally react to the tyre blow out, saving his life. Hammond’s work on Top Gear was recognised with a number of awards including three times winning the Most Popular Factual Entertainment Show at the National Television Awards.
After establishing himself as a lively and naturally impressive presenter, Hammond found himself highly in demand to front a number of other programmes, diversifying into genres including science, history and geography. Adaptable and personable, Hammond’s earlier presenting gigs on Brainiac and Petrolheads, led to a number of self titled series including: Richard Hammond: Would You Believe it, Richard Hammond’s Secret Service and Richard Hammond’s Miracles of Nature. Winning Best Presenter for his Super Bodies special and Blast Lab solidified Hammond’s position as a versatile on screen personality.
Continuing his award winning ventures as a trio, Hammond has most recently collaborated with May and Clarkson as the hosts of The Grand Tour. Debuting on Amazon Prime in 2016, the format replicated the success of Top Gear and continued to showcase Hammond’s outgoing personality, as he embarked on car related challenges across the world. An internationally recognised authority on motor vehicles, with a career as fast paced and exciting as the cars he drives, Richard Hammond is the expert speaker and host to add the buzz to your occasion.
