Paul Hollywood has grown from a working in his family bakery to one of the most renowned and accomplished TV celebrity chefs and culinary personalities. Growing up on the East Coast of England, Paul sparked a passion for baking and decided to make it his lifelong profession. Growing in skill, Paul became main baker for some of the most revered hotels in England, including The Cliveden, The Dorchester and the Chester Grosvenor. It was at this time the Paul soon became recognised as one of the nation’s most talented bakers. Paul made his debut as a celebrity chef on the Carlton Good Food network, in two series of Taste alongside James Martin.
Hollywood’s onscreen persona and expert knowledge boosted Paul to one of the most popular celebrity chefs which led him to now be one of the recognisable and desirable culinary TV personalities around. Paul truly became a baking superstar when he took up the role of co-judge on the hit BBC show The Great British Bake Off in 2010. Described as the antidote to Simon Cowell and Len Goodman in reality TV, Paul’s straight talking and honest approach to judging candidate’s efforts has grown his popularity exponentially. Paul’s relationship with his former co-judge Mary Berry has been the ‘secret weapon’ of the show, making perhaps the best judging duo in television.
Hollywood has enjoyed being a TV Presenter on his own shows as well as celebrity chef. In 2013, he presented Paul Hollywood’s Bread on BBC Two, inspiring his audience to experiment and try out new techniques for their baking exploits. Hollywood also starred in BBC One’s Paul Hollywood’s Pies and Puds, showing his comprehensive ability to create wonderful food outside the realms of baking. Paul has been the guest speaker at a number of food festivals, including the Cumbrian Food Festival, the BBC Good Food Show and the Cake and Bake Show in London.
Equally at home speaking as he is baking, Paul’s professionalism and impressive ability to interact with a crowd whilst cooking makes him one of the most sought after celebrity chefs to have.
