One of the best-loved celebrity chefs in the UK, James Martin presented BBC cookery programme Saturday Kitchen for a decade between 2006-16 before presenting three series with ITV which includes the ongoing series entitled, Saturday Morning with James Martin. The Michelin Star culinary master is not only the presenter of some of TV's favourite cookery shows, but is also behind the famous, award-winning restaurant, The Kitchen, in Hampshire. His down to earth hosting style blends passion with humour, and exemplary skills in the kitchen. He has been called upon to work regularly on stage and screen.
James' hilarious speeches, meet and greets, Q&As, book signings, as well as cookery demonstrations, have entertained audiences across the UK. A regular at food shows and events, James has appeared at Denby Pottery Village, cruise ships, casinos and hotels, adding glitz and glamour to proceedings. A talented chef, James trained at the Hostellerie De Plaisance in France before working in Michelin star restaurants; one of which included Anthony Worrall Thompson's restaurant in Kensington. By the age of 22, he had set up Winchester's Hotel du Vin as the head chef.
Soon, the screen came calling for James, and by 1996 he headed up James Martin: Yorkshire's Finest. He would also appear on Ready Steady Cook before he co-presented BBC Food's Stately Suppers. By 2006 he was the presenter of Saturday Kitchen, a role he would hold for a decade. In the same year, he would take to the famed Strictly Come Dancing floor, dancing his way to fourth place with partner Camilla Dallerup.
He has also been found attempting to improve food standards in British hospitals in Operation Hospital Food and has pursued his other great passion of cars, which has seen him present Racing Legends on BBC Two. Print media has also come calling for James who has headed up columns for BBC Good Food Magazine, Sky Magazine, as well as the Mail on Sunday's automotive column.
