Rachel Brookes

Rachel Brookes is a highly respected sports broadcast journalist, author, corporate host and keynote speaker, recognised for bringing the fast-moving world of Formula One to audiences around the globe. Best known for her long-standing career with Sky Sports F1, Rachel has reported live from more than 200 Formula One Grands Prix, interviewing world champions, team principals, engineers and influential figures from across the paddock. Her greatest achievement is transforming thousands of interviews and more than a decade of specialist Formula One experience into her first book, ‘F1 Racing: Drive: The Secrets to Formula One Success’, which explores the mindset, teamwork and strategic decisions behind the sport’s greatest performers.

Rachel began her broadcasting journey in commercial radio after winning a DJ competition at KISS FM, an early success that highlighted her natural ability to engage audiences and communicate with confidence. She later presented for GCap Media and co-hosted ‘Rick and Rachel’ on Power FM, where she developed the timing, adaptability and composure needed for live broadcasting. Before entering the media industry, Rachel worked as an Operations Manager for Mainline Events, overseeing events from planning through to delivery and gaining valuable experience in organisation, client relations and audience management. Her television career later included work with ITN, Setanta Sports News, IMG, Now Sports, Bloomberg TV and talkSPORT, allowing Rachel to cover football, cricket, rugby, tennis and international sporting events. She also worked as Bloomberg’s correspondent at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and presented coverage of Indian Premier League cricket.

After joining Sky as a freelance reporter in 2009, Rachel became an integral member of the Sky Sports F1 broadcasting team when its dedicated Formula One channel launched in 2012. Across approximately 14 years with the broadcaster, she became one of the paddock’s most familiar and trusted interviewers, reporting from pit lanes, media pens and race circuits around the world. Rachel regularly interviewed drivers moments after victories, crashes, strategic errors and controversial incidents. In 2017, Rachel became Host of talkSPORT 2’s Grand Prix podcast, interviewing leading drivers and team principals alongside journalist Kevin Eason. In 2026, she became the author of ‘F1 Racing: Drive’, drawing on conversations with figures including Toto Wolff, Lando Norris, Nico Rosberg, Guenther Steiner and Martin Brundle.
