Neil Tan

Neil Tan has enjoyed a successful career, having spent over two decades working in corporate strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions. Working for famed companies such as Phillips, Siemens, Deutsche Bank and HSBC, Neil has built a keen interest in areas such as fintech, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, AI and digital assets. Currently the CEO of Neptune Digital Limited, Neil is also booked as a speaker for a range of corporate events, sharing his detailed knowledge of business strategy, development and management backed by a credible business history.

After achieving a Master of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Neil’s first major role saw him work as the Director of Corporate Development for Sanmina- SCI Corporation. In this role, he began to build his now detailed knowledge of strategic planning, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments and assets. He later went on to work as the Head of Mergers & Acquisitions Asia Pacific for Royal Phillips Electronics, a role in which he managed the business portfolios of over 30 different joint ventures and focussed on deals in consumer electronics, appliances and medical systems.

Since then, Neil has also worked in TMT & GI Investment Banking for Deutsche Bank, as the Principal of The Boston Consulting Group, the Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing Asia Pacific for OSRAM Licht AG and as the Sales Director for Alliance Data. In 2018, Neil became the Head of Business Development Asia Pacific, Digital Partnerships and Innovation for HSBC, a role in which he was responsible for developing both strategic and commercial partnerships for equity investments and joint ventures. He was also an Intrapreneur on the Project NEO ‘Bank-In-A-Box’ for HSBC and a Member of the InsurTech Committee for the FinTech Association of Hong Kong.

Also the Co-Chair of the WealthTech Committee for the FinTech Association of Hong Kong, Neil works to elevate Hong Kong’s status as a FinTech hub along with his work as the CEO of Neptune Digital Limited – a start-up joint venture between Kenetic Capital and CryptoBLK. Having also been a Mentor at the Center for Entrepreneurship at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chinaccelerator and AngelVest, Neil is well versed in all things business development, strategy and management.
