Martin Corry is famed for his career as a rugby player, having formerly been a blindside flanker for Bristol and Leicester Tigers amongst representing his country as a member of the British and Irish Lions. With the Leicester Tigers, Martin found immense success, starting the 2001 and 2002 Heineken Cup Finals and helping his team to win 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 Premiership trophies. Also during his time at Leicester Tigers, Martin was famed for his work as the Leicester Tigers Captain- developing his skills of teamwork and leadership to see them remain victorious.
Outside of club rugby, Martin has also represented his country – playing for England for 10 years, as well as appointments for the British and Irish Lions. Paying as either a lock, number 8 or blindside, Martin proved his worth as a versatile player and was confirmed as a player in the Rugby World Cup, going on to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Other prominent achievements include being the England Captain during the Six Nations 2005, Vice-Captain of the Lions Tour of New Zealand, England Captain for the 2005 and 2006 Autumn Internationals and Captain of the Barbarians during a match against England in 2009. He ultimately confirmed his retirement from playing rugby at the end of the 2008/ 09 season and has since focussed his interests on media work, motivational speaking and performance coaching.
