Lindsey Vonn is one of the most successful skiers of all time. Her almost 20-year career has been defined by global success, overcoming injuries and determination. Representing the U.S Ski team in the 2026 Winter Olympics after a temporary retirement in 2019, Lindsey is very much still one to watch. With a gold and two bronze Olympic medals and the oldest downhill skiing World Cup winner at the age 41, Lindsey Vonn is a titan of her sport and doesn’t shy away from using her own career to inspire audiences.
Debuting at just 17 at the 2002 Winter Olympics, Lindsey placed sixth in the combined event, showcasing her talent even amongst seasoned skiers. Her first prestigious medals came at the 2007 World Champions where she secured a silver medal in both downhill and super-G. However, such triumphs often came with physical setbacks, and coming back stronger from injury became a defining feature of Lindsey’s career. Even after an ACL sprain to her right knee, Lindsey amazingly finished third in the 2007 World Cup. In 2008, Lindsey won the overall World Cup title, becoming the second American woman to do so and one of only six women to have won World Cup races in all five alpine skiing disciplines. Lindsey also had Olympic success at the 2018 games, winning the bronze medal for the downhill event. During her career, Lindsey has set records with her eight World Cup season titles in downhill and up until January 2023, she held the record for 82 World Cup victories, demonstrating her outstanding dominance in the sport.
Lindsey attended Harvard Business School in 2021, studying their Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports program. She also brought her extensive ski knowledge to NBC as a news correspondent for the 2014 Winter Olympics and as a broadcast analyst in 2021. In 2018 she hosted Amazon Prime’s dog reality show, The Pack, and competed in Drop the Mic. She then went on to release her HBO documentary in 2019, where she intimately documented her final competition. Lindsey also became a part-owner of Angel City FC in 2020 and an advisor for the National Women’s Soccer League in 2025.
Lindsey has also been recognised by a variety of organisations for her impact and success in skiing. Demonstrating her characteristic determination, she earned the U.S. Olympic Spirit Award for competing in the 2006 Winter Olympics just two days after an injury. Lindsey was also named Colorado Athlete of the Year in 2009, Laureus Word Sportswoman 2011 and the United States Olympic Committee’s Sportswoman of the year award in 2011. Beyond competing, Lindsey is also deeply passionate about empowering young girls through sports and life coaching. She founded the Lindsey Vonn foundation in 2015 to ensure the next generation of female athletes achieve and exceed her legacy. In 2020 they launched ‘Lindsey Vonn's Virtual Career Day’, to help young scholarship winners with their job prospects. For her expansive career and the committed work of her foundation, Lindsey was aptly named as one of 25 women changing the world in 2016 by People magazine.
With an exceptional skiing career driven by sheer determination and resilience through numerous setbacks, Lindsey delivers powerful talks centred on sports. As a keen mental health advocate, Lindsey also uses her own career and challenges to expertly weave in secondary themes of inspiration and motivation. Bring the unmatched drive of a global icon to your stage. Book Lindsey Vonn for an unforgettable keynote on resilience, peak performance and the grit of a champion.
