Anna Turney

Anna Turney is an inspirational Paralympic skier who has represented Great Britain in multiple Paralympic Games around the world. After Annas’ life-changing accident which occurred during a snowboarding training run in Yamagata, she had to adapt her previous knowledge and skills to become a Monoskier. When booked, she speaks about how she continued to dedicate her life to a sport that permanently changed her life.

In 2007, Anna took up Monoskiing and was naturally talented in the sport, resulting in her being accepted into the British Disabled Ski Team a year later. Her passion for the sport has pushed her to progress in her career and has allowed her to compete in multiple Paralympic Games for the British team. Anna competed in her first Paralympic Games in 2010 and finished 6^th. Her success continued and in 2014, she was part of the most successful British Winter Paralympics teams to compete, proving how her passion allowed her to continue pushing for her goals.

Anna has been part of multiple charity events and schemes since her accident, working with the younger generation and people with disabilities on different schemes. She joined the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust in 2010 and has been able to support individuals through multiple leadership, aspiring minds, and mentoring programmes. Anna has now diversified her career by speaking at events about how her injury has not stopped her from where she has wanted to be.

She aims to inspire others to never limit themselves as her goals are what allowed her to gain success in the sport she loves.
