Tom Rosenthal is best known for his work as an actor and a comedian. Having featured in a number of programmes across the screens of Channel 4 and the BBC, Tom has gained a reputation for his comical performances and become a fan favourite in the entertainment sector. Born into a family with a history in the entertainment industry, his mother a former Newsnight producer and his father a sports presenter, Tom was destined for a life in the limelight.
Before finding fame as a performer, Tom was a student studying Philosophy at King’s College in London. Tom made his debut as a performer on The Lunchtime Club: Class of 2010, before rising to fame as part of the hit Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner playing Johnny Goodman. Since first appearing on Friday Night Dinner in 2011, Tom has remained as a member of the cast for the following five series. The show was a huge hit averaging audiences of 4.7 million, which established Tom’s reputation as an actor.
After entertaining audiences on Friday Night Dinner, Tom was scouted for another sitcom. He became a member of the cast of Plebs in 2013, playing the character Marcus. Plebs was also a huge success, gaining several industry awards and propelling Tom further into the limelight. Since first appearing on Plebs, Tom has been the main character of the show for the five series it has aired. As well as Plebs and Friday Night Dinner, Tom has also appeared in a mini-series titled Flat TV and played Private Pike in Dad’s Army: The Lost Episodes.
As a comedian, Tom has performed at several Edinburgh Fringe Festivals entertaining audiences with his comical talents. He has performed sets titled Meme, Myself and I, Child of Privilege, Work in Progress and Manhood. In 2016, Tom made his debut in film after he joined the cast of Bridget Jones’ Baby playing the character Josh. Tom has also worked as the director and writer of Absolutely Fine and made cameos on Drunk History, The Last Leg, Virtually Famous, Celebrity Squares and Sweat The Small Stuff.
Throughout his career, Tom has made a multitude of achievements. He first began adding these achievements to his roster back in 2008, after he became an Amused Moose Laugh-Off Finalist and a Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Commended Finalist. A year later, Tom was a finalist for the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year and was the winner of the Paramount Funniest Student. He later claimed the 2011 Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award and was nominated for the Best Breakthrough Act at the British Comedy Awards. With an established entertainment career behind him, Tom is now sought to appear at a range of corporate events.
