Greg Thomas

Former Welsh cricketer, Greg Thomas is a captivating sports speaker known for his brief period as part of the England squad of the mid-1980s. Remembered as one of the few genuine fast bowlers to be seen on the team since the great Bob Willis, Thomas was known as one of the few men able to match the speed of the irrefutable West Indian team of the 1985/86 tours. Throughout his career, Greg played in five Test matches and three One Day Internationals between 1986 and 1987. He has also appeared in 192 First-Class cricket games and 193 List A cricket matches before sledging the Indian cricket legend Viv Richards, who is known for punishing bowlers that do so, which now stands as one of his fondest memories that he reflects on as a speaker.

Before injury forced him into retirement, Thomas took part in one Test match as part of the England team and three One Day Internationals, however, his batting abilities were far outmatched by his own bowling abilities and multiple injuries forced Greg Thomas to cut his professional career abruptly short.
