
Tre Whyte is famed for his talents as a BMX rider, now retired from competing but having claimed several prominent victories throughout his career. From the famed Whyte family, with younger brother Kye Whyte having recently claimed Silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Tre was a role model to his brothers and lead them into the sport. Joined by his brothers, Kye and Daniel Whyte, Tre attended the Peckham BMX Club in his youth. The Peckham BMX Club was founded by Tre’s father, Nigel Whyte, and the family have strong roots in the sport. Training and gathering experience at Peckham BMX club, Tre joined the British Cycling BMX Academy Programme in 2011 to further his training. Tre’s first major competition saw him compete at the 2013 UCI BMX SuperCross World Cup in Manchester, where he finished in 11th place.
Since then, Tre has competed at the 2014 UCI BMX SuperCross World Cup and the 2014 UCI BMX World Championships, where he claimed his Bronze medal. At the 2014 UCI BMX World Championships, Tre demonstrated his talent as a rider, narrowly avoiding a crash of five other riders to cross the line in 3rd position. Continuing his hard work and dedication to the sport, Tre was selected to join the Great Britain Cycling Team BMX Senior Squad in 2017. Recently, in 2020, Tre made the decision to retire from competitive BMX riding.
