Kye Whyte

Kye Whyte is a current Olympian, famed for his talent competing in BMX racing. Making headlines in 2021, Kye competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and brought home a silver medal for Team GB. Having also claimed victories in other major BMX competitions, Kye is now booked as an Olympic speaker for a range of corporate events, sharing his inspirational story of reaching the top of his sport.

An avid BMX racer, Kye first joined the sport aged just three years old, introduced to BMX by his father- the co-founder of Peckham BMX Club. With family members already cycling superstars, Kye began riding BMX bikes for fun, before being given the opportunity to join the Great Britain Cycling Team in 2017. Before long, Kye was competing in top-tier competitions, including claiming Silver at the 2018 UEC European Championships. In 2022, Kye will be taking part in the famed Dancing On Ice Competition.

Kye’s BMX career has already contained adversity, having been involved in a serious racing accident that left him in a coma and unable to compete for a year. Despite this adversity, Kye has proven his resilience and determination, claiming other prominent victories such as Gold at the 2019 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup and Silver at the 2020 UCI BMX World Cup. In 2021, after their postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kye qualified to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Wowing viewers with his skill, Kye raced over the finishing line to claim Olympic Silver in the Men’s BMX Race.
