Beth Schriever is a current Olympian, famed for her talents as a BMX racer, pioneering the sport as a female athlete. After funding was cut for female BMX, Beth had a difficult journey to the Olympics, yet nonetheless she managed to secure crowdfunding to achieve her dreams of competing. Making headlines after she secured victory at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Beth is now booked as a speaker for a range of corporate events to share her inspirational journey.
Now one of the top athletes in BMX racing, Beth first started riding when she was just nine years old. Completing her training at local clubs, Beth strived hard to reach the top of her game. She was able to secure her first victory in 2016, claiming Silver at the 2016 BMX European Championships. Since then, Beth has gone on to claim the title of Junior World BMX Champion 2017. Emerging into her senior career, Beth has competed at the Baku World Championships, the UCI BMX World Championships and the Manchester National BMX Series.
Demonstrating her potential as a BMX racer, Team GB soon realised their decision to cut funding for female BMX at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games should be reversed for Beth. Keen to move attention away from traditional velodrome cycling and diversify their medal pool, Team GB eventually helped Beth to reach the Olympics after she had been forced to turn to crowdfunding. An investment that proved worthwhile, Beth crossed the finishing line at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a Gold in the Women’s BMX Race – finishing with a time of 44.35 seconds. Following her success, she was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Years Honours List.
Having striven through adversity to reach her goals, Beth is now booked as an Olympic speaker for a range of corporate and public speaking engagements. Empowering future generations of athletes, Beth shares how she went from humble beginnings of local BMX clubs to winning Gold at the Olympic Games. An inspiring figure for other budding female athletes, book Beth Shriever today to motivate the next generation of Olympic athletes.
