Lauren Price is a talented athlete, who competes in amateur boxing at prestigious competitions worldwide. Having formerly been a footballer for Cardiff City and the Wales U17 and U19 teams and been a kickboxer, Lauren knows what it takes to achieve peak performance and emerge victorious. A four-time World Champion and six-time European Champion in Kickboxing, Lauren transferred into boxing and has proven her worth as a versatile athlete. From a young age, Lauren showed interest in many sports, playing everything from netball and football to kickboxing and Taekwondo. She claimed Silver at the 2007 World Championships, going on to be a four-time World Champion and six-time European Champion in Kickboxing. She also made headlines as the youngest British competitor in the British Championships. A jack of all trades, Lauren also spent time as a footballer, scouted to join Cardiff City. Also playing for the Wales National Team, Lauren was capped three times for U17, 12 times for U19 and two times for the Wales Senior Team, a time during which she helped win the Welsh Premier Women’s Football League and was named FAW Club Player of the Year.
Moving away from football to concentrate on boxing, Lauren was inspired to take up boxing after watching the famed Nicola Adams pioneering the sport for women. Fast forward to today and Lauren has won countless medals in her sport, including Gold at the 2019 European Games, Gold at the 2019 World Championships and Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is also a three-time European Championship Bronze medallist, a Commonwealth Games Bronze medallist and a World Championship Bronze medallist. Following in the footsteps of other female boxers who paved the way, Lauren has left her mark in the history books as the first Welsh woman to win Gold at the Commonwealth Games and European Boxing Championships. She was awarded an MBE in 2022 following her Olympic success.
Representing Team GB at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, postponed by a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Lauren returned victorious winning Olympic Gold in the Middleweight Boxing at the games.
