Tori James

The first Welsh woman to climb Mount Everest, Tori James became one of the most talked about people in Wales at the age of 25. With her demand and reputation continually growing following her incredible achievement, James was in the BBC documentary, On Top of the World which was produced to document her expedition. Also the author of Peak Performance, a book which describes her record-breaking climb to the summit, the Pembrokeshire woman who grew up on a farm claims to have gained much of her toughness for venturing outside in all weather. Having been awarded the Points of Light Award by the Prime Minister in recognition of outstanding volunteering over the last 10 years. Tori James now works extensively as a motivational speaker and consultant delivering leadership training, team and youth development projects. Tori’s exceptional work has led teams in both corporate and charitable organisations where her work has stemmed across sectors that include aviation, entrepreneurship and sport. Having gained a degree in Geography from the Royal Holloway University of London, Tori James secured her dream job working for British Exploring, a charity founded by a member of Scott’s Antarctic Expedition and based at the Royal Geographical Society in London. James was a member of the Pink Lady Polecats in 2005, making her a part of the first all-female team to complete The Polar Challenge, a gruelling 360-mile race to the Magnetic North Pole. Not one to settle, just five years later Tori cycled the length of New Zealand, a total of 2400km, unsupported from north to south. These experiences and endeavours both within her employment and adventures have allowed Tori to compile a host of tales and anecdotes to share with her guests at events that are certain to engage, motivate and educate all in attendance.

Tori was part of the 2014 Beeline Britain team and became the first to travel in a straight line from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of the British Limbless Ex- Ex-Servicemen’s Association. The team's 1,100km journey involved sea kayaking, road cycling, mountain biking and hiking, and the magnitude of their achievement was documented in the award-winning film As The Crow Flies. Setting a record for the longest open sea kayak crossing in UK waters, kayaking non-stop for 200km from Land’s End to Pembrokeshire, Tori James became a celebrated and sought-after figure who has since used her inspirational story and experiences to motivate people in a range of fields to push the boundaries of their potential.
