Tom began his career in ecological research in 2000 as an Experimentalist at Syngenta, followed by working as an Assistant Trials Manager at University of Nottingham in 2001, soon transitioning into technology and becoming a self-professed “professional psychological safety nerd”. He progressed into various noteworthy positions such as CIO at National Ice Centre & Capital FM Arena Nottingham, Head of Tech Operations at UNiDAYS, Director of IT Service Delivery at ERT, and Head of UK Cloud Platforms at Experian Consumer Services. During his career, Tom has gained a valuable combination of experience, including a deep understanding of organisational dynamics and the complexity of workplace environments, giving him a unique edge within his field. This comes alongside a strong educational background, which includes a degree in Ecology, an MBA, and a Master’s in Global Health and Humanitarianism.

It was in 2020 that Tom established Psych Safety, which quickly became a leading provider of psychological safety resources, training, and consultancy. Taking the latest and most accurate research and tried and tested practices from across the sectors of aviation, healthcare, manufacturing, tech, and safety, the company delivers engaging online and in-person workshops, training, and advisory.
