Tim Reid is the mastermind behind the biggest British sitcom to premiere on any channel since 2011. Co-creator and co-writer of the BAFTA-winning BBC One sitcom Peter Kay’s Car Share, Tim is one of the most inspiring and creative minds in the TV and radio industry. Transferring his distinguished skills to the world of work, he travels the globe to deliver highly impactful speaking presentations and workshops on developing better ideas and increasing creativity when not working on a new TV or radio show. His thought leadership in thinking creatively has seen him advise renowned brands such as Carling, Danone, Coca-Cola, and Durex, among others.
After earning a degree in Business and Finance from The Manchester Metropolitan University, Tim completed a Post Grad Diploma in Marketing Management at Staffordshire University. He spent the next three years working as a Media Planner at J. Walter Thompson before joining Poulters as an Account Manager. In 1997, he joined McCann-Erickson Communications House as a Planner and Copywriter until 2006, followed by the role of Lead Inventor at ?What If! After six years at ?What If!, Tim landed the role of Head of Audiences at the BBC.
In 2012 Tim founded SparksFire, then joined UK Sport as a Consultant in 2014 before co-founding We Do Things Differently. He currently holds several roles, including Freelance Planner for the BBC, Mentor at Creative England, and Writer and Creativity Consultant at One Raspberry Productions Limited. As well as winning a BAFTA for Peter Kay’s Car Share, Tim also won Best Original Programme at the Broadcast Awards and Most Popular Comedy Series at the National Television Awards. Constantly innovating new series, his latest show Meet Richardsons won Best Comedy at the Broadcast Digital Awards for two successive years.
