Sky Brown is a decorated sportswoman, who has forged her success as an avid skateboarder representing Team GB at the Olympics and World Championships. Making headlines as the youngest professional skateboarder in the world, Sky became the first British skateboarding World Champion, when she claimed the Gold at the 2023 Sharjah World Championships. Adding to her repertoire, she has most recently achieved as Olympic Bronze Medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
A talented skateboarder, Sky has never had a professional skateboarding coach, and has instead taught herself all of the tricks that she can perform – with the help of videos on YouTube. One of Sky’s first major competitions was the Vans US Open, which she competed in aged just eight years old. From here on, Sky continued to prove her dominance as a skateboarder, going on to claim second place at the Asian Continental Finals, top 10 of the Vans Park Series 2018 and winner of the 2019 Simple Session. In 2018, Sky was given the opportunity to compete on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, winning the series. In 2019, Sky announced that she would be representing Team Great Britain, skating for the British Skateboarding Association.
Sky has achieved great success competing for Britain, with her first major win seeing her placed third at the 2019 World Championships. In 2021 Sky competed at the X Games, where she achieved Gold, and at the Dew Tour where she once again claimed Gold. In the run-up to the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, it was announced that Sky qualified to represent Team GB, going on to win Bronze in Park at the postponed (due to Covid-19) Olympic Games in 2021 – making headlines as the youngest British summer Olympic medallist aged just 13 years and 28 days. After the Olympics, Sky continued her success when she claimed Gold at the 2022 Dew Tour and the 2022 X Games, and most recently when she became the World Champion at the 2023 World Championships.
A revered sportswoman, Sky has been awarded 2021 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and Comeback of the Year at the Laureus World Sports Award 2021.
