Often walking a fine line between life and death, Simon’s most high-profile climb came in 1985 in the Peruvian Andes. After his climb companion broke his leg on the descent, Simon was forced with a life-changing decision, as he was suffering with frostbite, and unable to lower his injured friend further. The decision Simon took made both climbers household names and redefined their futures.

When not embarking on daring adventures, Simon acts as an expedition leader for others as the founder of Mountain Dream. Responsible for spearheading small groups in challenges, Simon has successfully guided tours to the likes of Aconcagua in Argentina and Denali in Alaska. Additionally, Simon has written three books about his experiences, including: Flame of Adventure, Against the Wall and The Wild Within, and his most famous climb was turned into a BAFTA award-winning film and theatre show.
