Simon Brodkin is a popular British comedian famed for playing Lee Nelson on television comedy shows and stand-up tours. Creating the character of Lee Nelson saw his stock rise and he has since played a series of high-profile pranks on the likes of Donald Trump, Theresa May and Sepp Blatter.
Simon managed to find his way past security to hand Theresa May a P45 during a speech, perform alongside Kanye West at Glastonbury, steal a copy of his own DVD at a signing at HMV in London and disperse Nazi golf balls at Trump's speech to attendees of his Turnberry golf resort.
Brodkin even upset Sepp Blatter at a FIFA press conference, showering him in bank notes amid controversy surrounding bribery. In another example of a typical "Lee Nelson" prank, Brodkin appeared as an intentionally dreadful rapping rabbi called Steven Goldblatt on Britain's Got Talent, aiming to prove his hypothesis that talentless acts often got through on the show. He was put through to the next round, seemingly proving his point.
Designing his pranks to cause shock value, Brodkin has drawn widespread attention for the statement-making moments that have caused laughter, confusion and provocations in recent times.
Known as Britain's greatest hoaxer, Brodkin has also had a prolific career in stand up and sketch comedy. He has written and starred in two of his own programmes broadcast on BBC Three, Lee Nelson's Well Good Show in 2010 and Lee Nelson's Well Funny People in 2013 in which he played a "cheerful chav".
Outside of his acting roles, Brodkin has featured on Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, Day Break, Britain's Greatest Hoaxer, Roast Battle, Jeremy Vine, Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast and more, Brodkin is a popular media personality held in high-regard in the UK and beyond.
A memorable comedian who has had British audiences in stitches, Brodkin is a sensation on stage and screen. Ideal for bringing the unexpected to awards ceremonies, product launches and other corporate events, he is the famous face that can fill auditoriums at events of all shapes and sizes.
