A talented comedian, Dominic has enjoyed many experiences as a performer from taking to the stage of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to touring the UK and creating series on BBC Radio 4. He is best known for his series The Small World of Dominic Holland, a show that was well-received by fans and critics alike and earned him the Comic Heritage Award. He has also performed seven solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and claimed the 1993 Perrier Best Newcomer award. Quickly proving to be a popular comedian, Dominic has also been invited to star on the likes of Have I Got News For You, The News Quiz and has made a number of appearances at The Royal Variety Show.
Back in 1991, Dominic started out as a comedian when he made his comedy debut at the Comedy Café in London. Just two years later, Dominic took to the stage of the iconic Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his original comedy show, taking home the title of the Perrier Best Newcomer. From that point on, Dominic’s comedy career went from strength to strength, later given the opportunity to accompany fantastic stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard on tour. Returning to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on many occasions, Dominic caught the eye of top British publications, being called the ‘Master of observational comedy’ by The Sunday Times and a ‘top-notch stand-up’ by The Daily Telegraph.
Outside of comedy, Dominic has also enjoyed the time as a writer and starred in films. He has authored the books I, Gabriel, The Ripple Effect, The Fruit Bowl, Open Links, A Man’s Life, Only in America, Takes on Life and Eclipsed. He has also appeared in the films P’tang, Yan, Kipperband, Tube Tales and The Young Person’s Guide to Becoming a Rock Star. Dominic’s comedy genius has also been utilised by other top comedians, using his talents to write content for stars such as Lenny Henry, Des O’Connor and Harry Enfield. He has also contributed to the likes of the Daily Mirror, the Mail On Sunday, The Guardian, The Daily Mail and The Sun.
