Pearl Lam is a leading art curator, collector, patron, and Founder of the Pearl Lam Galleries. With over 20 years of experience as a gallerist, Pearl is one of the most prominent authorities on Asian art, design, and the international contemporary art market. At the forefront of reimaging China’s cultural place in the world, Pearl is an eloquent speaker who passionately discusses Asia’s contributions to the contemporary art scene and passionately advocates for the cultural exchange between the world and East Asia.

A driving force within Asia’s art scene, Pearl Founded Lam Galleries in 2005. The gallery has become one of the leading galleries within Asia’s contemporary art scene and now boasts four prestigious locations in Shanghai, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Her work involves bridging the gap between the art world of the East and the West by promoting cultural exchange. Furthermore, Pearl plays an important role in introducing Asia’s top artists to the West and can boast of working with some of the most influential contemporary Chinese artists.

Asian artists Pearl has worked with include Zhu Jinshi, Su Xiaobai and Qiu Deshu, moreover, she has also worked with important western artists such Leonardo Drew, Jenny Holzer, Carlos Rolon/Dzine and Yinka Shonibare MBE. Works by these artists have been featured in some of the top museums and galleries in the world including V&A, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, Vitra Design Museum, and the State Hermitage Museum to name a few.

In 2008 Pearl Founded the China Art Foundation, a trust dedicated to showcasing the rich history of Chinese culture and traditions globally. Some of her partners in the trust include the BBC and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Furthermore, she is known for conceiving and organising Awakening: La France Mandarine, a remarkable touring exhibition on the influence of French culture on Chinese art.
