
Oscar Davies is the UK’s first publicly recognised non-binary barrister. Currently working at Garden Court Chambers, Oscar specialises in employment, education, human rights, commercial, and property law. They are a multi-award-winning Barrister and speaker, attending high-profile events and panels for organisations like Revlon, Solicitors Regulation Authority, Thrive Law, and more. They also recently spoke to MPs in a parliamentary briefing on the Supreme Court ‘For Scottish Women’ case, co-authoring a commentary for the Discrimination Law Association.
After achieving their BA Hons in French and History from King’s College London, Oscar completed their Graduate Diploma in Law at City St George’s, University of London before successfully passing the Bar Professional Training Course. They have a breadth of experience in law, from serving as Stagiaire President for the Court of Justice of the European Union to being a Barrister at Lamb Chambers.
Named in the ‘Top 10 Outstanding Contributions to LGBT+ Life’ at the British LGBT Awards 2022, Oscar’s dedication to LGBTQ+ and human rights is at the core of their every action. They were featured in the Evening Standard Magazine’s Unsung LGBTQ+ Heroes 2024, a finalist at the Young Pro Bono Barrister of the Year at Advocate’s Bar Pro Bono Awards 2024, as well as a finalist for the DE&I Rising Star of the Year at the Legal 500 ESG Awards 2024, winning LGBTQ+ Champion of the Year at the same awards. They were also recently awarded the King’s College Distinguished Alumni ‘Change Maker’ Award.
