Mike Horn

Mike Horn captures the essence of self-belief and an unshakable mental resilience. He has also climbed several mountains, most notably Gasherbrum, Broad Peak, Makalu and the infamous K2.

Mike’s 2019 #NorthPoleCrossing expedition is one of the most impressive polar missions in history. Starting as far north as the sea could take him, Mike spent 87 days navigating melting ice due to climate change. The expedition drew valuable attention to the impact of global warming. In 2008, Mike started the Young Explorers Program, an initiative that allowed prospective explorers to work on social and ecological projects across the globe. Such valuable projects reflect Mike’s passion for sustainability, a topic that he can discuss at events.
