Leaving home at 16, Matt worked as the lowest crew member on a fishing trawler in the English Channel. This initial taste of hard work, resilience, and true graft laid the foundations for his determined and confident outlook on working. Becoming Managing Director for ApexIS LTD in 2002, Matt moved through various successful corporate roles, such as Group Commercial Director of dhc, before creating and serving as CEO of GrowthEnabla, a sales consultancy utilising a growth enablement platform. In 2017, Matt, in a relay team of 4, achieved the incredible feat of swimming across the English Channel in just under 14 hours. This display of human potential exemplifies Matt’s dedication to pushing endurance, fostering supportive teams, and experiencing the incredible. In 2023, Matt tested his limits again by rowing across the Atlantic in a team of 3 in aid of Wolo HQ. He and his team spent a staggering 49 days at sea, further cementing his inspiring status.
Alongside his professional and adventuring career, Matt is also an author, having published three books: ‘Learning the Ropes’, ‘Why So Many Sales Hires Fail’, and ‘An Unconventional Journey into Leadership’. He has also been featured across BBC and ITV, and has worked with clients including NatWest, Lloyds Bank, Carbonology, Juniper, and more.
