Insurance expert and finance speaker Mark Wood is the former CEO of both Axa UK and Prudential UK & Europe, he is currently chairman of Paternoster and one of the most successful financiers in Britain.
Trained as an economist Mark Wood has experience working in insurance, auditing, stocks and pensions, he has acted as a board member and finance speaker for some of the biggest companies in both England and America including Barclays, Lloyd’s of London, and the AA and Prudential plc. Mark’s successful turnaround of Prudential, helping them to become one of the leading insurers in the British market, gained a global acclaim and was the subject of a case study by the International Institute for Management Development.
Mark Wood is considered one of the most well respected business speakers and finance experts in the UK, his work in the insurance industry has changed the fortunes of a number of UK businesses and his leadership as chairman and deputy executive of companies such as Dave King’s Digitalis Reputation, which specialises in online reputation management, the RAC and Beta London Advertising has helped to make them market leaders in their areas.
In 2005 Mark Wood launched his own insurance company, Paternoster, who take on the risks inherent in defined benefit pensions and final salaries. Working as chief executive and finance speaker for the brand Mark Wood was able to secure £500 million backing from Deutsche Bank.
Wood’s work as a business speaker and finance and insurance expert is so well respected that he is frequently called upon to give insights and commentaries to both the British and American press. His knowledge of pensions, insurance and auditing has garnered invitations from the BBC, Sky News and CNN as well as numerous corporate and financial conferences and after dinner speaker events.
Outside his work as a financier and after dinner speaker Mark Wood is the chairman of the British children’s charity the NSPCC and was responsible for the Full Stop campaign with raised more than £250 million.
