Lola Anderson, an advocate for women in sport and resilience idol, is one of the most exciting young athletes in the UK. Inspired by Team GB's rowing success at the London 2012 Olympics, Lola pursued that path to an iconic win at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, securing Gold in the quad sculls. There, she made headlines for achieving her dreams and, in the 2025 New Year's Honours, was awarded an MBE for her contribution to rowing.
Lola joined her first rowing team during high school. She quickly demonstrated her talent and dedication, winning numerous national events and subsequently being selected for the GB junior team, where she continued to thrive on the world stage. Representing Newcastle University, Lola became widely recognised as a top-tier rower and progressed to the GB Under-23s squad, where she won Gold at the Under-23 World Championships in the W4x.
Lola remained committed to training after university, becoming a full-time British Rowing athlete and winning a bronze medal in the W1x at the World Rowing Cup in 2021. A year later, Lola won silver in the W2x at the World Rowing Cup before earning her first senior gold medal for Great Britain at the European Rowing Championships in Munich in the W4x. Her success came with expectations that she consistently surpassed. Lola’s team finished 2023 with a gold medal at the World Rowing Championships.
Lola Anderson’s drive for success was long ingrained in her, just 12 years on from Lola writing a note in her diary reading ‘My name is Lola Anderson, and I think it would be my biggest dream in life to go to the Olympics in rowing and if possible, win a gold for GB’, she achieved just that. As a speaker, she inspires audiences to understand that with the power of self-belief and confidence, you can achieve your wildest dreams. Lola has appeared as a featured guest on media outlets like the BBC, The Guardian and The Independent. At events, Lola shares her experiences, challenging everyone in attendance to set targets and achieve their goals, and provides them with the inspiration to do so.
