Jim Davidson is famed for his career as a high-altitude climber, expedition leader and best-selling author. For over 30 years, Jim has dedicated his life to leading expeditions and exploring some of the world’s most treacherous landscapes. In 2017, he summitted Mount Everest, after a previous attempt saw him and his expedition team tackle avalanches and earthquakes. Jim has also been recognised by the US National Park for his efforts in rescuing injured or sick climbers from mountains. A truly inspirational adventurer, Jim’s daring feats have been shared worldwide, having been seen on National Geographic, PBS, CNN, ABC and many other news outlets.
Before becoming a speaker and adventurer, Jim was a successful Environmental Geologist, a role in which he helped to clear oil and gas spills. Alongside his daring expeditions, Jim has also turned his hand to writing, having authored the books The Ledge: An Inspirational Story of Friendship and Survival and The Next Everest: Surviving the Mountain’s Deadliest Day and Finding the Resilience to Climb Again. In his book The Ledge, Jim shares a story of when he was trapped 80 feet deep in a glacial crevasse, a story that is also documented in the Discovery Channel tv show I Shouldn’t Be Alive.
