World-renowned rock climber, Alex Honnold has completed some of the world’s most impressive feats on the most treacherous cliff faces our earth has to offer. Alex first began climbing when he was just five years old, attending a climbing gym where he developed his talents. As his talent progressed, Alex entered to compete in several climbing championships, competing nationally and internationally. Dropping out of the University of California Berkley, Alex pursued his love for climbing, travelling far and wide to climb many of America’s greatest mountain ranges. Alex first gained recognition for his talents as a climber back in 2012, solo climbing the Regular Northwest Face of Half Dome which was then featured in the Alone on the Wall film. From that point on Alex has achieved many great climbing victories.
His commitment and achievements made in climbing have not gone unnoticed, having claimed the 2010 Golden Piton Award for endurance climbing. He has also claimed the 2015 Piolets d’Or for the first full traverse of the Fitz Roy Range and claimed the Robert & Miriam Underhill Award in 2018. Alex was also able to co-author the book Alone on the Wall: Alex Honnold and the Ultimate Limits of Adventure and was invited to deliver the TED speech How I Climbed a 3000-Foot Vertical Cliff- Without Ropes, achieving an incredible figure of over five million views.
