Jack Brooks

Jack Brooks is a professional English cricketer who is renowned for his remarkable performances at clubs such as Somerset and Oxfordshire. Known as ‘The Headband Warrior’, Jack has become a key member of every team he plays for. A village cricketer until the age of 20, Jack made his way through Minor County Oxfordshire and Surrey's second XI before being signed by Northamptonshire after showcasing his ability at a net trial in 2008. Respected for his dedication to the sport, he became a stand-out player after he cracked 43 and picked up 6 for 99 against Warwickshire in his first game for the team. Gaining the opportunity to make his first-class debut against Australia, he was able to advance to play for the respected Chesterfield which resulted in his debut consisting of him picking up a 4 for 76 and a 1 for 38 to contribute towards a two-wicket win over Derbyshire.

In 2011, Jack took 43 first-class wickets at 21.90 and recorded new best figures of 5 for 23 at Grace Road. Following this successful season, he received a call-up to the England Performance Programme, and by the end of 2012, how had chosen to play for Yorkshire over many other counties that have expressed interest in adding him to their squad. As a key member of the team, he took more wickets in Division One than any other fast bowler in the 2016 County Championship season. Keen to showcase his natural sporting ability, Jack secured a three-year contract with Somerset ahead of the 2019 season and continued to perform to the highest of his capabilities in every game. Most recently, he was selected to be part of the profound 2022 initial 30-man England Squad.
