Henrik Larsson is a former professional footballer, most remembered as the star striker for Celtic. Having also played for big clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona, Henrik scored over 400 goals during his career. After winning the most coveted trophies in football, including the 2005 UEFA Champions League with Barcelona, Henrik retired in 2009 and began coaching. With a legacy that has lasted the years, Henrik is now hired to give keynotes on topics such as motivation, sports and leadership, using his wealth of knowledge to give authentic and inspiring insights to audiences.
Henrik began his career at home in Sweden, debuting as a professional footballer for Högaborgs in 1989. He then moved to Helsingborg, where he scored a staggering 34 goals and helped the team win promotion to the top Swedish league. After a short stint at Dutch side Feyenoord, Henrik would make the move to his most prolific club, Celtic. Here, Henrik made an immediate impact, helping Celtic win the league championship after a long ten-year wait. Henrik was the top goal scorer for five of his six seasons and was aptly named the ‘king of kings’ by fans. With his move to Barcelona, Henrik continued his success, winning La Liga in 2004 and 2005, as well as the Supercopa de Espana and UEFA Champions League in 2005. Even with his short time at Manchester United, Henrik still made a difference and was credited by Sir Alex Ferguson for his professionalism and talent.
Aside from his team's success, Henrik has won several individual awards for his impact and talent. During his time at Celtic, Henrik won the Golden Ball and the SFWA Player of the Year twice. For his legacy there, Henrik was also inducted into the Scottish Hall of Fame in 2006. For his stellar international career, Henrik was named the Swedish Footballer of the Year twice, the all-time best Swedish footballer and the Greatest Swedish Player of the last 50 years at the UEFA Jubilee Awards. He was further commended, being awarded an MBE in 2006 for his services to the game.
Following his retirement, Henrik was appointed as manager for several Swedish clubs, including Landskrona BoIS, Falkenberg and his former team Helsingborg. However, Larsson’s major coaching position came as assistant coach to Alfred Schreuder at Barcelona, a position he held until 2021. During his career, he also published two books, 'Henrik: Seven Magnificent Years' and 'Henrik Larsson: A Season in Paradise', detailing his time at Celtic in his own words. Currently, Henrik delivers fascinating keynotes, focused on sports, football and motivation. At events, Henrik talks openly about his story and advises on how to achieve your goals.
Henrik Larsson is a name that carries respect and admiration, built from years of hard work and dedication. Having made an impact in all the teams he joined, Henrik brings this same attitude to his keynotes, striving to help audiences achieve success. Despite his personal challenges with racial discrimination, Henrik is able to share his winning mindset and offer a unique perspective on how to overcome obstacles.
