Alex was renowned for valuing young talent while at the club, most notably the Class of ’92, which saw Alex sign players like David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Gary Nevelle who would go on to become footballing legends. Alex retired as manager of Manchester United in 2013 after an incredible 27 years at the club.
Knighted in the 1999 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, Alex has a host of accolades to his name including a staggering 10 Manager of the Year awards and the Sports Personality Diamond Award.
