Harnaam Kaur

Harnaam Kaur is a respected PCOS activist, the first woman to walk the London Fashion Week catwalk with a beard and the Guinness World Record holder for being the youngest woman in the World to have a full beard. From a victim mentality and an unfortunate diagnosis to a top model and body positivity campaigner, Harnaam’s life story is an inspirational journey of overcoming adversity and turning negatives into positives. Able to grow a full-length beard as a young woman left Harnaam in the firing line for bullies, and the impact on her mental health led to suicidal thoughts. At age sixteen, Harnaam summoned her strength and turned the worst thing in her life into the best, embracing her unconventional hair and acting as a body positivity mentor. Stepping into the limelight in 2014, Harnaam began raising awareness for her condition and educating people in media interviews. An overnight sensation, Harnaam was immediately in demand thanks to her powerful message of positivity and overcoming adversity. From role model to catwalk model, Harnaam starred in the ‘Eff Your Beauty Standards’ campaign in 2015, and since then has become an internationally renowned model. Taking to the runway of London Fashion Week and being featured in countless publications across the world, she is proving there is a demand for alternative beauty standards. For Harnaam, acting as an activist against bullying and a spokesperson for self-love was at the forefront of her media engagements.

Sharing motivational speeches across the world led Harnaam to appear on the TEDx stage with a talk on "Empowerment Through Confidence". In addition, her anti-bullying campaign has seen her become an influential asset to the British Government, called on to join a panel in the House of Parliament discussing mental health and body image. Recently, Harnaam has also spoken at the British Council Youth Select Committee, Stylist 2018 and appeared on Houses of Extraordinary People.
