Expert marketer, consultant and keynote speaker, Greg Nugent is best known for his incredible work as Director of Brand, Marketing and Culture for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games. Greg has worked for some of the biggest brand names and organisations in the world, including for example, Weetabix and Eurostar.
During his time as Director for the London 2012 Olympics, Greg managed everything from customer relationships to the branding of individual games. Greg made a huge impact on how the games turned out, being the brain behind a massive 5.5 million attendee database, he turned volunteers into Gamesmakers and coined the main slogan for London 2012, which was ‘Inspiring a Generation’.
With a number of years industry experience in marketing, Greg began his marketing career at the Nationwide Building Society, before progressing to senior roles at Weetabix and GlaxoSmithKline, and eventually working with Eurostar and HS1 in the move to St. Pancras in 2003. As a result of his influence in the move of HS1, Greg has also been asked to be a strategic advisor to HS2.
Initially starting his a career in political polling Greg has often referred to the likeness of a brand or business to a political campaign. He believes in the importance of speaking to the people by avoiding corporate language internally and externally, with a consistent focus on the organisations' message and purpose.
