A world record-breaking explorer and athlete with over 14 expeditions to his name, George Bullard is known by fellow explorers and followers as a pioneer in the world of adventure. So great were George's remarkable early feats that the world's greatest living explorer, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, described his achievements as "genuinely groundbreaking" - and that was when George was just 19 years old. By that time he had already swum the English channel, at just 14 years old, before he completed the world's longest unsupported polar journey in history before turning twenty.
Fast forward a decade and George's achievements have continued to amaze. Having changed his life forever following his debut 113-day polar journey, George has led expeditions, travelled, trekked, sailed and swum his way through some of the most extreme conditions on earth. In recent times, much of George's extraordinary experiences have focussed in on his passion for sailing. Alongside Alex Hibbert, he made a 1374 mile return crossing of the Greenland Icecaps before embarking on the TransAtlantic race and taking on research expeditions in Antarctica.
George spoke at a 2018 TEDx talk at the University of Kent entitled Discover the Truth About Yourself Through Adversity. Highlighting the importance of getting to know yourself and growing by challenging yourself, he referenced the 14 years of exploration he had undertaken. Discussing his personal journey and his travels that have included over 2000 miles unsupported in polar regions, as well as leading more than 350 people through expeditions, George has proven himself an awe-inspiring speaker offering a deeply engaging presentation.
The Head Ambassador at adventure travel group, IGO Adventures, George is active in sharing his passions with others, be it in an educational or corporate setting. Ideal to deliver on message, he can tailor his speeches to any conference brief, discussing a broad range of topics including leadership, overcoming adversity, peak performance, happiness, mental toughness and wellbeing, as well as prominent issues facing the planet today, including climate change and conservation, as a result of his scientific studies in Antarctica.
