Christabel Nettey

Christabel Netty is a Canadian long jumper who had the honour of representing her country not just once, but twice at both the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing an incredible 20th and 22nd respectively. 7x the Canadian Nation Champion, Christabel has become the greatest long jumper in Canadian history with a personal best of 6.99 metres. When hired as a speaker Christabel effortlessly speaks on her career as a high-performance athlete and diversity and inclusion in sport.

As a young child Christabel would watch the Olympics longingly, hoping that one day she too could be competing for her country whilst the world watched her. When she was 10 years old her parents were advised to enrol her into an athletics club and Christabel took to long jump like a duck to water. In 2013, whilst studying at Arizona State University, Christabel finished second at the 2013 NCAA Championships and just one year later won bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Her incredible form continued into 2015 when she broke the previous Canadian record, and then became the Pan-American Champion.

Despite her incredible achievements, Christabel has also dealt with injuries but managed to come out stronger with the help and continued support of her family. In 2017 and 2018 she was top 5 in the world rankings and then managed to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Most recently, in 2022, Christabel won silver in the NACAC Championships which has added to her boast-worthy CV that many athletes can only dream of. Christabel can educate her audience on what it takes to reach the top of sport and the personal sacrifice needed, whilst sharing stories throughout her career, covering topics such as diversity and inclusion, fashion, and beauty.
